Tia Marie (Harvey) Alexander

Tia Marie Harvey Alexander was born March 6, 1971, and left earth for her Heavenly home on November 15, 2021 at Samaritan Hospital with her husband by her side.

Tia was born to Betty Jones and James Horce Harvey in Newark, NJ. She was also the adopted daughter of her loving aunt Shirley Ann Jones.

Educated in the Newark City School System, she would go on to obtain several medical certificates including Certified Nursing Assistant, Personal Care Aide and Phlebotomy. Being the avid Healthcare worker she was, Tia spent over 30 years providing care for others.

Tia loved to dress, taking great pride in coordinating her outfits to ensure she matched from head to toe.

Tia was a very personable person. Her bright and cheerful spirit radiated and was always outwardly shown in the smile she was rarely seen without.

She leaves to cherish her memory – husband, Douglas “Dougie” Alexander; brothers, James Horce Harvey, Jr., Brian Harvey, William “Avery” Harvey (Sonya) and Tony Harvey; sisters, Elizabeth “Renee” Davis (Dave) and Jaray Mozique (Ronald); Godfather, Steve Wells; mother-in-law, Elsie Alexander; siblings-in-law, Clarence “Fuzzy” Alexander, Jr. (Debbra), Lorraine Alexander (Christopher), Valerie Moseley (Min. LeGrande) and Geraldine “Dina” Alexander (David) and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Tia was predeceased by her parents, Betty Jones and James Horce Harvey, Sr.; adopted mother, Shirley Ann Jones; brother, Darrel Harvey and sister, Michelle Spears.
