Thomas Robertson, Jr. was called home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2025, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born on December 31, 1940, to the late Thomas Sr. and Mary (Davis) Robertson in Victoria, Va.
Thomas relocated to Albany, NY in 1963. His first job was at the Super Sonic Car Wash, on Central Ave., washing and detailing cars. He worked at Super Sonic for approximately 1 year, until leaving to work in maintenance al the Loudon Arms Apartments for approximately 2 years. Thomas was then employed as a machinist at Albany Machine & Tools.
When that portion of the company closed, he went to work for Albany Felt Co. He worked there for 45 years until his retirement on December 31, 2008. Thomas was an avid bowler, and he loved to fish. He also enjoyed going to Lebanon Valley Speedway to watch his son, Skipper, race his Mustang. Thomas loved to take pictures. He was always seen with a camera. He did amazing artwork using colored pencils. Thomas also made unique rings out of stainless- steel nuts. Many of which are worn by his loved ones to this day.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Thomas, Sr., and Mary (Davis) Robertson, his brothers; John, William, Walter, Haywood, Charlie and Eddie, sisters; Coretta and Daisy and his daughter Eunice Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children Timothy Robertson, Sr. (Linda), Anna Davis (Reggie), Viola, Laryssa, Tyrone and Joseph Robertson and Shane and Mattew Rouse, his companion of 28 years, Barbara Rouse and his sister Eunice Johnson of Kenbridge, VA., 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and honorary sons and daughters. Thomas had the unique ability of making everyone feel as though they were the most important person in the world. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank Thomas’ medical team at the office of Dr. William Kowal, Ashanti and Christine, his palliative care nurses, Steve from Lincare who made sure that he always had his supplies and oxygen. We also thank Hospice for their assistance.
In lieu of flowers, you may express your sympathy with a plant to carry on Thomas’ legacy of having a green thumb.
