Takiah Denise Johnson

Takiah Denise Johnson, 47, of Albany, NY, passed away on January 11, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. Takiah was born February 28, 1973 to Gloria Dawson and Tate Johnson. After graduating from Albany High School in 1991 she went on to working in the medical field. Takiah was passionate about education so she later went on to study at Bryant and Stratton College where she graduated with her Associates Degree in Science with honorable mention. She worked very hard on her accomplishments and was very proud of herself. Takiah worked as a medical administrative assistant for many years at Upper Hudson Dermatology where she loved all her co-workers and patients alike. She was fond of Dr. Gregory because he always made her laugh and was a pleasure to work with. Takiah leaves behind to cherish all her memories her one and only daughter, Nidira JohnsonBurt. Takiah would boast that Nidira is her greatest accomplishment of all, her pride and joy. The love she has for her daughter runs deep and rich. Before Takiah’s illness she enjoyed family game nights, music, drawing and spending time with her longtime companion, Sunny, her devoted cat. Takiah was predeceased by her father Tate Johnson, grandmothers, Lossie Dawson and Minnie Johnson. She is survived by her beloved mother Gloria Ballou (James). Sisters, Crystal (Shannon), LaTish and Trina. One brother Taylor. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and loving cousins. Takiah had so many relatives and friends that are based in Albany, Maryland, and Virginia that she loved and cherished who will hold on to her memories dearly. Takiah will be greatly missed by everyone.
