Shannon Nichols

Shannon Nichols, age 53, of Troy, NY passed away Monday, April 15th, 2024. She is survived by her children, Tyrone (Samantha) Nichols, Shantel Nichols; Mother, Jeanette Chestnut; Father, Jesse Chestnut; Granddaughter Skylar-Jade Nichols; Siblings, Arica Grimes, James Chestnut, Monira Fordley, Shadasia Rivera, Nashon Kemp; Day One, Angela Moore. Nieces & Nephews Aquan Hilts, Arie (Lincoln) Bovell, James Chestnut Jr., Anari Goldsmith, Kha’nei Goldsmith;4 Aunts, 4 Uncles. Predeceased by her grand parents, 7 Aunts and 7 Uncles.

Shannon grew up in Troy NY where she touched so many hearts. She was truly a blessing in everyone’s life. Shannon enjoyed entertaining and being surrounded by family and friends. She attended HVCC and achieved an A.A.S in Business Administration. Shannon has always been a people’s person, from working at Mr Subb at 16, to NYS Dept. of Health and becoming a Legend at the Bradley’s. Shannon was the person everyone wanted to be around! Her love for her children and family was unmatched. Shannon earned the nickname “Cookie” at a young age because she saved cookies for her soon to be little brother for a year. So believe it when we say, She loved fiercely and she is fiercely loved. Shannon had many friends, and was a loved person in our community! If you would like to pay your respects, you are welcome to attend the service we are holding in her honor at Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday April 20, at 11.00 am. Though she's gone to live with God, she is still here with us, smiling down on all of us, letting us know she's okay.
