R.G. McCall was born on August 2, 1933, in Shubuta Mississippi to the late James McCall and Evlean (Cooley) McCall he departed this life on February 18, 2025. R.G. was Educated in the Wayne County school in Mississippi.
On May 5, 1956 R.G. Married Ruth Mae (Yates) McCall the love of his life he relocated to Albany, NY from Mississippi in 1957.
In 1957 R.G. began working at Albany Memorial Hospital in 1958-1962, went to work for Con-Railroad in 1962, he joined the union hall local 190 doing construction work until he retired.
R.G. favorite hobbies was Bowling, Fishing, Hunting, and doing his vegetable garden He was very generous with the vegetable from his garden church, small business, Dr. office at on cost. He was a love of people, very kind soft spoken but meant business.
R.G. leaves to cherish his memory of his loving wife of 68 years Ruth Mae (Yates) McCall, five children Margie (McCall) Parker, Charles (PeeWee) McCall, of Albany, NY, Joanne Blackshear (Anthony) of Charlotte, NC, Geraldine Koonce, Willie Skydell McCall (Denine), Louis Wertz of Albany, NY.
He also leaves 24 grandchildren, Raycine Ward, Lashanta Malloy, Lavar Malloy, Jowoaan McCall, Jovan McCall, Jasmina McCall, Charles McCall, Jr., Latasha McCall, Shiaria McCall, Takeeya Mowatt, Danielle Perkins, Tamiek Wright, Tyquisha Wright, Elmira Koonce, Veronica Scarborough, Lorrinanne Schborough, Izamira Scarborough, Ruth McCall, Rehmel Farmer, Oursavion Robinson, Shaquana Howard, Lorenzo Howard, Michael Dye, Jr., Jermaine Wallace. 85 great grandchildren, 30 great greatgrandchildren and 3 Godchildren. Sons -in- laws Lee Scarborough, Tison Wright, 2 Sisters- in - laws Minnie Dean, Shirlene McCall, 4 (Sisters) Mother E. Geneva Conway, Rose (Geraldina) Brandon (AL) Ethel Locke, Rose Mary Koonce (Sam), 2 (Brothers) Bruce Woodard (Cheryl), Willie Woodard, very dear close friends Glenn and Donna Lasher.
He also adopted the role as a father to Johnny Cooley, Euan Hinds, Sharon Dye, Robin Koonce, and a host of Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, and friends.
R.G. was predeceased by is parents James McCall and Evlean (Cooley) McCall, 3 Brothers Jessie James McCall, Jay Lee McCall, Percy Lee McCall. Son William C. McCall, Daughter Jackie D. McCall Scarborough, Grandson Oursson Robinson, Great Grandson Marquise Chandler, George and Dora Woodard, Sr., Wayne Woodard, George Woodard, Jr., James Locke, Sr., and a host Sisters in laws, Brothers in laws, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends.
