Robert "Robbie" David Hughes Jr. - Beloved Son, Brother, Nephew, Cousin and Father - was born February 8, 1991 at Albany Medical Center in Albany NY to Rosemarie Hicks and Robert David Hughes Sr.
Robbie was well-loved for his light hearted demeanor and infectious smile that would light up any room. He was a humble, reserved and sensitive spirit who adored his family. A deeply loving and devoted father as well as caregiver to his Grandfather, at times, during his illness.
He was an Albany City School District student who in his earlier years, enjoyed sports and played with the National Little League, Central Babe Ruth, Albany Pop Warner Maulers, Albany Youth Soccer, in addition to the VI CYO with Mike Gaffney. His career consisted of being a master drywall finisher, a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades and he enjoyed working with his Dad finishing and taping houses.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Children, Robert David Hughes III (Trey), Robyn Cecilia Hughes, Roxanne Maye, Quaron Maye. Mother, Rosemarie Hicks (Billy) and Father Robert David Hughes Sr. His siblings Ashanti F. Hughes, Ronnie D. Hughes and Amani R. Hughes. Aunts and Uncles, Leroy G. Wilson Jr., Tabetha N. Wilson, Stephanie E. Wilson, Stephen C. Wilson, Ryan G. Wilson, Anika A. Bent-Albert, Kai N. Bent, Joseph S. Bent, Darlene Robinson, Vernette Pompey, and Robert Wilson. Great Aunts and Uncles, William "Bill" Williams, Donna Moore (Roger), Garth Slocum (Eileen), Abbey Wiles, (Donald) Grandparents Daphne L. Wilson (Leroy). Predeceased by Grandparents Ronnie Bent, Herbert and Elizabeth Hughes. As well as a host of cousins' families and friends. Beloved Godson of Darlene Robinson and Ernest Latimer
The visitation will be held at Elijah Missionary Church 70 Second Avenue Albany NY 12202 on November 22, 2021. Viewing at 10 a.m., service to follow. Burial service will take place at Graceland Cemetery 680 Delaware Avenue Albany NY 12209.
