Ms. Yvonne Maria Smith

Yvonne Maria Smith, 61, of Albany, NY transitioned into a life of eternal rest on November 4, 2023. Born at Albany Memorial Hospital on August 23, 1962 to her parents Gerald Smith and Nevern “Cakie” Smith. Yvonne was most lovingly known as “Dannie,” “Aunt Bon,” “Von,” and “Miss Yvonne.” Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family. Her spirited and distinctive personality would light up any room she belonged to, leaving anyone she encountered with a special memory that lasts a lifetime. 

She is survived by her parents, Gerald and Nevern Smith; her daughter, Tiera Gailliard-McAfee (Vaughn); her two grandsons, Myles McAfee and Malychi McAfee; granddaughter Jordyn McAfee; her sisters, Yvette Bruton (twin) and Stephanie Smith; niece Cae-Shara Cannon; nephew, Craig Cannon, Jr.; great niece Kailee Taylor and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. She is predeceased by her grandparents Emmit Smith, Eunice Smith, step-grandmother Evelena Smith and John and Harriet Foy; brother-in-law, Timothy Bruton.

Funeral services for Yvonne will be held at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 3 Morton Ave Albany, NY on Tuesday, November 14th. Viewing from 9am-11am with services at 11am.
