Wanda Stanfield was born August 15, 1943 to the late George Thomas Jones and Sera (Hall) Jones in Bells, Tennessee. Wanda graduated from the Milan School District in Milan, Tennessee. In the 1960’s, Wanda decided to move to New York to start a new path in life.
For many years, Wanda worked in early childhood education programs. She enjoyed caring for children of all ages watching them explore and grow. It was always a joy for Wanda being around her family which always brought love and laughter with each encounter. Wanda enjoyed doing various arts and crafts, but she truly enjoyed fishing with her friends and siblings. She was often competitive about who can catch the most fish and biggest fish. Win or lose, Wanda was just happy in the moment.
Wanda was predeceased by her parents George and Sera Jones, one daughter Shagundia Jones, her siblings Thomas Jones, Lorenzo Jones, Robert Jones, Muziel Jones, Samuel Jones, Oscar Jones, Otha Mae Alexander, Sarah Anthony, and Angeline Parker. Wanda leaves to cherish her memories her brother Tyrone Jones, sister Gerdie Jones, grandson Anthony Anderson, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
