Mary Ruth Brown was born September 3, 1933, in Eclectic, AL. She transitioned from earth to Heaven on August 5, 2023. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lee Brown; parents Sidney “Dude” and Ressie Varner Butler; Children Bobby Joe Brown and Stanley Earl Brown; Her Siblings, Lucy, Lucille, Louise, Mary Alice, Will George, Clyde, James, Woodrow, Walter, Graddis and Sam.
Mary Ruth accepted Christ as a young woman and was a member of Union No. 2 Baptist Church in Eclectic, Alabama prior to moving to Albany in 1984. At the center of her being were her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved being a mother and grandmother. She was known for cooking her southern cuisine, especially collard greens, potato salad, and sweet potato pie. As a child she matriculated through the Elmore County School System.
She leaves to cherish her memory: eight children Willie James Brown, Haven (Chanel) Brown, Clifford Lynn (Debra) Brown, Willie Andrew (Sandra) Brown, Kimberly Kay (Sydney)Fraser, Tammie Sherrell Brown, Jacqueline Denise (Roy) Tibbs, Clifton McArthur (Keegan) Brown; 23 Grand Children; 19 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, one brother-in-law Isaac Brown, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends. While her passing has filled our hearts with much grief, Mom’s faith in Jesus Christ has secured her an eternal and heavenly home. She’s now at rest in the bosom of eternity. Gone from our presence, but forever in our hearts!
