Ms. Gina Selitto Obituary

On October 26 Our Beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend completed her journey here on this earth, leaving this world more beautiful with a legacy of love, zest for life, and compassion for others behind. Gina was the the beloved daughter of the late Italo (Nick) Damiano and Philomena Viglucci-Damiano.

Gina loved her friends and family more than anything in this world, she was the adoring mother of Nicole Selitto (Rachel), Janine Bethea-Brown (Louis), and Butch Hall and Bonus Mom to Mariel and devoted Nana to Bubby. She was also the most amazing Pet Mom to her beloved Gigi, Lollylou, Zoe, Buddy, Teddy, Lonilee, Grendel.

Gina also leaves behind dear friends Michael Selitto and Jeffrey Bethea. Gina loved her family above all else, she cherished the close relationships with her sisters and brothers, Antoinette (Heath), Lisa (Jim), and Michael (Tara) along with her nieces and nephews. They were a club in themselves, but Gina had this uncanny ability to make everyone in her presence feel like the most important person in the room. Gina enriched everyone’s lives, making the world kinder and more beautiful as she helped us see the beauty in the world through her eyes even in the most difficult circumstances. Gina was so much to so many, she had a heart of gold, a fighting spirit, and strong faith in God. 10 years ago, Gina’s life changed as she found strength in the congregation at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Albany. Gina’s fun-loving personality, dry sense of humor, and the ability to remain Switzerland in a big Italian Family will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Our Gina was a Master Chef in the kitchen, the decades of memories around the dinner table from Dana Ave to Brooklyn to Manning Blvd united all who loved her in good laughs and cheer. Gina was a warrior; her tenacious spirit, faith, determination, and silent strength will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Services here In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society
