Mr. Russell Garvin

Russell Garvin was born on April 21,1963 in Brooklyn NY and gained his angel wings on March 21,2023 at the age of 59 years old . Born to Dorothy Garvin and Edward Garvin he was the oldest of five siblings; Tracy, Justice, Lisa and Lamont . Russell attended Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn NY.  He joined US Army Field Artillery School  in 1982 and graduated August 30th 1983.He gained his first bonus daughter Jaria Fields when he met Dellia Brown in 1987. The two had a daughter Lashawna Garvin in 1989.  

Russell moved to Albany NY in 2006 with his late wife Erin Loving and  two bonus children Nicolette and Nick Loving. Erin Loving and Russell had a son Nathaniel Garvin in 2004. He began his life of working at the local Catholic homeless shelter in 2007 until 2022. He loved cooking and assisting the men with get back on their feet. He also worked for the Albany Delaware library system as a librarian/ security April 2016.

Preceded in death by his parents and two siblings Tracey and Justice. He is survived by his kids Nathaniel and Lashawna ,Jaria, Nick and Nicolette, two siblings: Lisa and Lamont, four nieces :Joevonnie, Dorothy, Danayhja, Jessica and nephews Edward and Daniel, countless great nieces and a great nephew.

He loved the basketball team The Knicks, cooking for his family, providing for his family and 80's and 90's rap.  He was a selfless man whose passing has left an unfillable hole in all of our hearts, His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive and love will be forever engrained in all who knew him.
