Mother Marian Genevieve Graves
Marian G. Graves, daughter of Burton Clow and Alice Goldman was born on February 17, 1928 in Albany, NY. She met and married Rev. Robert Earl Graves who in 1988 was called to be the Pastor of Welcome Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. There she served as a Deaconess, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Senior Choir Member and on the Mother’s Board and Missionary Ministries for over 20 years. She remained a member there until her passing.
She was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College and employed at the Albany Health Department of Mental Hygiene as an advocate for clients in the community. She has been a member of the Golconda Council of Baptist Minister’s Wives and Widows for over 30 years.
In the evening of Friday, May 14, 2021, Mother Graves transitioned from this life to be with her Father in Heaven. Celebrating a legacy of love are her six children, seven grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, eight great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, the Welcome Chapel Church family, and many cherished friends.
