Exemplifying Minnie B. Catoe, born into this world May 13, 1943 and departed this world December 13, 2020. She was born to Esteller and Homie Lee Wallace and was the sister of Mary L. Pointer and Aubrey C. Wallace, all of whom departed this life before her. She was united in holy matrimony to Chevis Catoe and from this union was born sons Tymus and Jai Catoe, and Tyrone (Karen) Catoe.
Minnie received her education attending Albany Public Schools: School #6 and #7, Livingston Middle School, and Albany High School. She started her college education at SUNY Cobleskill and went on to RIT In Rochester, NY where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Culinary Arts and Nutritional Sciences. Minnie was employed by New York State Department of Health as the Senior Nutritionist, Eastern Regional Office, Division of Adult Services until her health began to fail.
She was a caring and loving woman who loved her church. She loved singing in the choir and working with the Home Mission. She took great pride in being a member of Alpha Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity and as an advisor in the M.C. Lawton Youth Civic and Cultural Club which was initially an all-girl’s organization until she requested that boys be included. Quite a historical achievement.
Minnie leaves to cherish her memory three sons Tyrone, Tymus, and Jai, two granddaughters, Jacinda and Janaya, two sisters Deaconess Lela M. Wallace and Mother Margaret McCann of Wilborn Temple COGIC, and adopted sister Elizabeth Brown, four nieces and one nephew, along with many more relatives and dear friends.
