Michael Davis Obituary

Michael A. Davis, passed away unexpectedly on April 4, 2024, at the age of 51 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.  Michael was surrounded by his immediate family when he made his transition.

Michael is predeceased by his son (Michael Terrel Davis) and his mother (Juanita Price).  He is survived by his father Ural Davis, Sr. of Albany NY. His children Dylan Smith of Colonie, NY, Kiera and Jada Davis of Albany, NY, Marcel, Amaya, and Malik Davis of Atlanta, GA. His brother Ural (Lisa) Davis,Jr. of Schenectady, NY. His sister Elaina Davis of Schenectady, NY, his nephews and nieces of Schenectady, NY: Tre’ Davis, Yalanna Reid, Eshauna Richardson-Johnson, and Sean Richardson-Johnson. A host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Michael was born in Schenectady, NY on November 25, 1972, to Ural and Juanita Davis.  Michael attended schools within the Schenectady City School system.  Michael was a son, a brother, a father, a husband, a friend, a mentor, and confidant.   His aliases were M.A.D, Merlin the Magician, and Slumdwella. He was beloved in the community and well known amongst many.  His humor, loyalty, transparency, realness, creativity, resilience, spirituality, and intellect were a strong people magnet.  He could engage and captivate anyone from any walk of life.  Michael always had an entrepreneurial spirit.  He had several businesses from barbering, to being a musical producer, to having a car service, to being an in-home electronic technician.  Barbering by far was his number one trade/business. Michael was a master barber, and he proudly served the Schenectady area for over twenty years.  He started his barbering profession at Mr. Marc’s Barbershop, where Mr. Marc became a mentor to the trade and ultimately family.

Michael’ greatest accomplishment was being a father.  He had a special relationship with each one of his children and always spoke fondly of them.  He always made great strides in bringing them and keeping together.

Michael was more than just a son, a brother,  a father,  an uncle, a cousin, a  nephew, a companion, a friend, and a mentor; he was truly an exceptional individual whose life exemplified intelligence, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His spirit, characterized by generosity and a profound curiosity for the world, endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. While we grapple with the pain of his absence, we find solace in the enduring legacy.
