Marjorie Elmira Koonce - Entered Eternal Rest on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from the St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, N.Y. Marjorie, the 9th of 16 children, was born on January 2, 1943, in Warrenton, GA to the late Mattie Will and Geroge Henry Tarver.
A resident of Albany and former resident of Catskill, Marjorie leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kenneth, James, Willie, (Mary), Terry (Lisa) Koonce, Marlene Koonce, sisters, Kattie Cox, Annie Tarver, Willie Mae Perrin, Helen Gross; bonus children James Jackson, Darvin Gross. Marjorie also leaves 40 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Bethany Church Family and a community of Christian relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by her late husband James Koonce, daughter Tonja Elmira Koonce, grandson, Marquess Koonce; great-grandson Khiryn Ail Sims; brothers, George (Anna), Kenneth Lewis, Randy, Charles (Pap), David Tarver, Milton, Willie B Watson, sisters Vivian Robinson, Catherine Cancer, Felicia Tarver, Elnora Smith. Brother-in-laws, Nelson Lee, James Cox, Gaston Cancer.
Her life and legacy will be celebrated on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11am at the Elijah Missionary Church. Calling hours are 9-11am. Rev. Glendora Battle and Rev. Suzette E. Turpin Officiating.
