Obituary of the late Marie X Goldston

Marie was born On July 15th,1950 in Willard NC to the late Odessa “Florence” Moore and the late Robert Lee Goldston. Marie was one of seven children. She attended Albany High School and graduated in 1968. She also attended Bryant and Stratton for secretarial training. In 1968, she gave birth to Tracey Courtwright (father, Ronald Courtwright), and in 1988 she gave birth to a second daughter, Danielle Thompson (father, Michael “Lameek” White). Marie enjoyed concerts especially Live at Five, playing poker, going to bingo, singing, dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Marie followed the Nation of Islam for more than 50 years. Marie was employed by Memorial Hospital, Aetna, DOT, Fleet Bank and NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal where she retired in 2011. She was also employed part time with CSEA phone bank political action for 15 years up until the time of her death.

Marie is survived by her two daughters, Tracey Courtwright (Aisha Mills-Courtwright) and Danielle (White) Thompson (Oliver “Ollie” Thompson). Three brothers, Robert “Bobby” Goldston, Benjamin (Gloria) Goldston, Samuel (d. Elvira) Michael, all of Albany NY. One sister, Mary (Alonzo) Hall, of Garner, NC. Brother-in-Law James Jackson (Josephine). Predeceased by Albert Michael, Josephine Jackson, and Sister-in-Law Elvira Michael. Seven Grandchildren, Jonathan Radcliffe, Na’eem Thompson, Helena (Bella) Thompson, Ariella (Arie) Thompson, Greyson (Sonny) Thompson, Kierra Mills, and Kiejuan Mills. Four Great Grandchildren, Samiyah Cosenza, Kaylanna Mills, Kassidi Radcliffe, and Kaydence Radcliffe.
