LaKia Antoinette Fowlkes was born June 12, 1986, to MacDonald Fowlkes Jr. and Stephanie Williams, in Albany, NY. As a baby, her mom would call LaKia her Smiley, Bubbly, Energetic baby, due to her happy, cheerful spirit. LaKia attended the Albany School District, in Albany, NY.
LaKia loved her 3 children very much, and spent many of her younger years as a homemaker. She loved to go to the Empire Plaza with her children and sit by the water. She also loved collecting Daisies, listening to music and working as a hairdresser. In between, raising her children, LaKia was employed at Fed Ex and later took on positions at the Mazzone Hospitality Group and Amazon. Until illness, LaKia was in the process of pursuing a nursing career.
LaKia was loved by many and known as Spunky because of her courageous and high-spirited personality. She entered into eternal life on Monday, July 8, 2024.
LaKia is preceded in death by her father MacDonald Fowlkes Jr., grandfather MacDonald Fowlkes Sr., great-grandmother Myrtis Booker, Cousins Alonna Williams, Derek Henry & Prince Newton Been.
She is survived by her mom Stephanie Williams of Albany, NY; her son Quassim Heath of Albany, NY, daughters Quasamirah Heath and Qualiah Heath of Goldsboro, North Carolina; her sister LaGina Fowlkes of Largo, Florida; brothers Mujahid Boyd of Albany, NY and Donny Zimmerman of Bronx, NY; father of her children, Antonio Heath of Goldsboro, North Carolina; Grandmothers Bessie Williams of Albany, NY & Arlene Been of Bronx, NY; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and friends.
