John T. Faulkner

On February 21, 2021 John T. Faulkner went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John was born on October 15, 1937 in Fairfax, Virginia to Lemon and Fannie Faulkner. He was lovingly called “Charley” by his family and friends from an early age. John gave his life to Christ as a young man at the Five Forks Baptist Church. He attended and graduated from Halifax School System in Virginia and later enlisted the United State Army. He served his country from 1955 – 1957 and received an honorable discharge for his service. After the service he migrated to Albany, New York. He worked for Albany Casket company, and the City of Albany Office of General Services where he was employed for over 20 years until he retired. John was an avid reader and loved the Word of God. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. John served the Lord at Reigning Life Family Church (RLFC) under the leadership of Pastor Fred Sanles since 1982. He was a devoted member and served as an Usher and Greeter. Everyone that entered the doors of RLFC was greeted by his big smile. He was known for dancing down the aisle during offering time or whenever we played “Shake Loose” by Vicki Wynan. On his 80th birthday we celebrated Brother John with a special service and awarded him a certificate for his faithfulness. He leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters Patricia Faulkner, Roxanne Phillips and Denise Vidal one sister Ida White and one brother Larry Faulkner all of Albany, NY. He had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents Lemon and Fannie Faulkner, his son Maurice Faulkner, and his siblings Joseph Faulkner Sr., Roxy Nelson, Frances Faulkner, Doris Marie and George Faulkner.
