Joan K. Jones-Applewhite

Joan K Jones-Applewhite was born on April 5, 1962 to Lula Jones and the late Willie F Jones in Oxford, Mississippi.  Joan moved to Albany, New York with her family as a very young child.  She attended Albany Public Schools, and graduated from Albany High School.

 

 Joan was very passionate about serving her country.  After graduating High School Joan went on to serve in the US Army.  She was employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Canandaigua, New York and has over twenty years of employment with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Joan K Jones-Applewhite departed this life on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.  She was predeceased in death by her husband, Reginald C Applewhite Sr, her father Willie F Jones and her dog Zeus.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Lula Jones of Albany, NY; her sisters, Joann Ballou of Albany, NY and Tasha Dotson of Indianapolis, IN; brothers, William (Louvonia) Jones and Buck Jones of Albany, NY, Frank Jones of Buffalo, NY and Willie J (Tanya) Jones of Indianapolis, IN.  Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
