James Ernest Gary Jr AKA as Junior was born on September 14th, 1953, in the Bronx New York. To the parents of James Gary Senior & Susie Hammond-Gary. In his younger years he attended Benjamin Franklin High School in Manhattan New York. Junior was raised in Harlem and was known for being extremely active within the Harlem community. He joined the Harlem HARYOU Acts cadets under Major Farrell in the late 1960’s.
Many of his friends from Harlem were also active in the cadet core with him. While in Harlem he meets the love of his life Gloria Moreno McDaniels who was originally from East NY Brooklyn. The two became an idem remained together later married and they relocated to Albany New York. Under that union they had two biological children Julia & James (Nacia) McDaniels/Gary. Junior was stepparent to three older children Sha’Kye Collie, Chamaka Collie, Rockia Collie. Junior & Gloria raised a beautiful family together, they were known for helping others especially taken in children & family during ruff times.
Upon moving to Albany he worked as a roofing contractor, a trade he learned from his father. After working as a roofer, he learned other contracting skills which intern led him to open his own contracting business named All Construction. After posting several of his skills via yellow pages he soon gained notoriety in Albany due to his impeccable skill men ship from projects completed. His name became known and his All Constructing Business took off. In turn he became very successful and established, leading him to be named One of the Most Successful Contractors in Albany NY.
Junior was an outstanding father truthfully; he was even better as a grandparent. He will always be remembered, praised & recognized for being an amazing grandfather to all his grandchildren biological or not, he loved the children. He was especially great with our babies they loved him to pieces. Junior and his son in Law Carlton AKA Carter Carr had a very special loving relationship & friendship that will be seriously missed & cherished by both he and his son in Law.
Junior spent a great amount of time with Carter, Carter especially enjoyed the times together and the two shared a great deal of laughs together and time spent out & about within the community, something Junior was known to love. He leaves to cherish his beloved biological sister Rose Marie Gary-Colvin, her two sons his nephews oldest Raphael Rogers AKA Bam, Guy Colvin his youngest nephew, Cousins Artie Brooks, Vanessa Williams, reining from The Bronx NY, as well as his long relationship held with his beloved brothers/sisters in Law and a host of other nieces, nephews more cousins, family & friends all from New York City.
Special consideration and mention need to be extended to his son James AKA Nacia who made his father extremely proud by becoming a certified diesel Technician a skill that generated from their love of cars. As well he was equally proud of his transformation in his life & watching him parent his beautiful grandchildren, Monya McDaniels/Gary, NaKhyia McDaniels/Gary, Prince Julius McDaniels/Gary, Jaiden McDaniels/Gary, Aniyla McDaniels/Gary.
