James Aubry Childress
Beloved Father, Brother, Son, and Music Lover
James Aubry Childress, a kind and soulful man known for his deep love of music and family, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and song.
Born in Halifax, VA and raised in Albany, New York, James grew up surrounded by the warmth of his close-knit family. He was raised by his devoted mother and beloved grandmother, alongside his brother. From an early age, James was drawn to music — a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. A talented guitarist, he could often be found strumming his strings, filling the air with melodies that spoke straight from the heart. Music was not just a hobby for James — it was a way of life, a way of connecting, and a way of expressing all the emotions words couldn’t quite capture.
Above all, James was a loving father. He cherished his only daughter, Yolanda, and his only son, Omar, with all his heart. His pride in their accomplishments and his love for them knew no bounds. He was their greatest supporter, their quiet strength, and their most loyal fan.
Those who knew James will remember his gentle spirit, his easy smile, and the way he made everyone feel seen and heard. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He will be deeply missed, but his music, his love, and his memory will live on forever.
