She was known as: Mer Tune, Little Mary, Geri, G.T., Aunt Mary, Aunt Mer, Auntie, Sis, but the most important of all Mommy/Ma, Grandma and Nana.

Geraldine was born in Scotchburg, VA to the late Willie Tune, Sr. and the later Jerline Sydnor Tune. She was educated in Halifax, VA and at a young age gave her life to Christ. She was married to Frank M. Thompson, Sr. They relocated to Philadelphia , PA, then to Albany, NY.
She was employed at Killups, and Roxy Cleaners, Latham, NY and Quail Cleaners as a Presser for many years and also worked for NYS Office of General Services until she retired.
She was a devoted and active member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was a member of the Bi-Quota Club, the La Flems Club and the Adult Choir.
Having many club meetings and dinners at her home and when the meeting was over you were plenty full from her delicious meals and her sweet desserts.
She is preceded in death by her husband for many years, Frank Thompson, Sr., her daughter, Yvonne and her son, Frank Thompson, Jr., her brothers, Joseph Tune, Sr., James Tune, Sr., Emmet Tune, Sr., and Willie Tune.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted daughters, Doris Thompson of Albany, NY and Patricia (Tish) Thompson Graham (Geniores, Jr./Crockie) of Charlotte, NC, her daughter-in-law, Karen Stratton Thompson, her sisters-in-law, Rose Tune of Albany, NY and Eva Pearl Tune Owens of Florida, 4 grandchildren, Theresa (Nene) Avilla, (Steve), of California, Frank Thompson, III of Albany, NY, Yolanda (Bonty) Veasey of Texas and Feticia Thompson of Charlotte, NC, 12 great grandchildren, special friends, the late Robert Alexander, Mary Jones (who was like a sister), Toni Miller and Juanita Willingham and a host of nieces and nephews.
