Frank Antoine Saunders was born on July 30, 1961, in Newark, New Jersey to Milton and Helen Saunders. Frank joined older siblings Elaine and George as the youngest of
three children. Though he was born in New Jersey, Frank grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where he attended P.S. 5 and Boys High. Before becoming a welder by trade, Frank worked in a photography studio with his father, Milton. Frank also worked as a handyman and in construction.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents Milton and Helen Saunders, Uncle George, sister Elaine, and brother George. His legacy continues through his wife Kim, younger sister Christine Arnold, Aunt Elaine Koonce, Uncle(s) Sylvester and Jerry I, niece Kizzy Wallace, Nephews Scooby, Danny, Antoine, and Kevin, grand-nephew Jaziah, cousins Nadia Saunders, Denzel, Destiny, and Zion Walden, and Catherine and Jerry Saunders II. Frank leaves behind a host of other family and friends including his beloved friend Mr. Frank.
Frank will be remembered as animated, charismatic, and family-oriented. His nephew Danny was the apple of his eye, and their bond breathed a new sense of purpose into what would become the final years of his life. Frank was also a music lover with a singing voice that was as memorable as the cadence of his speech. To know Frank was to love him, his personality a testament to the gentleness of a giant whose heart was as big as the life he lived.
