Erielyne McDaniel Obituary

Erielyne McDaniel was born on October 3, 1934, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Erien Ligon and Fred Wynn. She peacefully transitioned to glory on August 9, 2025.

Erielyne spent most of her adult life in Albany, New York, where she graduated with honors from Albany Business College. She worked in several positions throughout her career, including at the Watervliet Arsenal, New York State, the Hannaford Corporation, and Secretary to the Director of the Urban League of Albany for many years.

Grounded in her A.M.E. roots from Alabama, she joined Israel A.M.E. Church in Albany. As a faithful and dedicated member, she served in many roles: Chairperson for Women's Day, President of the Usher Board, Secretary of the Women's Missionary Society, member of the Trustee Board, and Fundraiser Chairperson for the Building Committee. Among her most cherished accomplishments was becoming a Life Member of the Missionary Society and the first elected Missionary Society President for the Western New York Conference.

Beyond her professional and church commitments, Erielyne was a devoted aunt who poured love, guidance, and laughter into the lives of her nieces and nephews. Known for her wit, she often shared comical anecdotes and left her family with cherished memories and joyful stories to pass on.

She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, Mary Boston, Thelma Young, and Rosetta Rawlins; her devoted nephews, Deacon Samuel O. Robinson and Fred (Adrienne) Daniels; her dearly loved cousin, Matilda Ligon; and a host of extended family and friends.

Erielyne was predeceased by her siblings Fredine Goodall, Mary Louise McDade, Jane Merrill, John Wynn, and Loretta Robinson; her nephews Cleveland "Bo" Robinson and Harold J. Robinson; and her beloved aunt and uncle, Julia Ligon Williams and Augustus Ligon.

" I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."- 2 Timothy
