In Loving Memory of Ericka Nicole Burden July 24, 1968 - May 19, 2026.
Ericka Nicole Burden a beautiful and vibrant soul, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on May 19,2026. Born July 24, 1968, Ericka was a lifelong resident of Albany, NY, whose warmth, boundless love, and joyful spirit touched the hearts of everyone she met.
She was the cherished daughter of the late Robert Burden and Mae Joyce Johnson, and the beloved granddaughter of the late Mother Vera Johnson.
Ericka's incredible legacy of love will live on through her five children: Quintacia, Martavious, Niquell, Damir, and Jah'quez Rouse, all of Albany, NY.
She was the fiercely proud grandmother of 15 beautiful grandchildren, who were the absolute joy, light, and pride of her life-and her ultimate love language was holding them, caring for them, and especially feeding them and everyone she love.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: two brothers, Jason Graham (Tonya) and Lionel Graham (Victoria); and Two sisters, Barbara (Jason Johnson) and Peaches (Laurence Pough), all of Albany, NY. She leaves behind 13 special nieces and nephews.
Ericka was a proud 1986 graduate of Albany High School and later dedicated her professional talents to serving the pubic, working faithfully for New York State until her health began to decline.
Her faith was her ultimate cornerstone, which she lived out daily as an active and devoted member of Greater St. John's Church of God in Christ and through her tireless efforts as a community service worker.
Because of her upbringing, Ericka was a true woman of God with a profound generosity and a loving heart. She possessed a deep passion for cooking, singing, and baking, making her kitchen the absolute heart of the home-especially during the holidays, when she filled air with delicious aromas and laughter.
Ericka shared a uniquely sacred bond with, her late grandmother, Dupie Johnson. She wasn't Just mastering Grandma's treasured recipes and secret techniques to keep family traditions alive; Ericka was learning the righteous way to live, love God and raise her children and grandchildren. When Ericka passed, the family beautifully notes that she took those heavenly recipes right along with her to glory.
And if you knew Ericka, you knew she loved taking bus trips to the casinos to play Bingo-and she always had a lucky streak of winning.
Her warmth, legendary cooking, singing, vibrant personality, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by a host of extended family, church members, and friends.
