Elise Jackson went home to be with the Lord on December 13, 2022, at home. Born in Halifax, Va. on August 16, 1933, also educated there. Elise moved to New York in the Mid 50s and remained until death. Elise was the daughter to the Late Andrew & Virlena Edmonds.
The eldest and the last surviving sibling of the Edmonds Children (Beasley Edmonds, Albert Edmonds, Ersell Edmonds, Author Edmonds, Robert Edmonds, Kenneth Edmonds; Grace Edmonds)
She was married to the late Charlie Jackson She is the mother of 8 children herself Alexander Edmonds Elizabeth Ann Jackson Jackson Linda Jackson John Bonds James Jackson Shelia Abraham.. Predeceased William Lee Jackson Louise Abraham.
Elise also had hand in raising a host of niece’s nephews & grandchildren. Elise is the grandmother to at least 24 Grandchildren & over 50 great grandchildren.
In addition, Elise is also survived by a host of niece's nephews' family and friends whom she enjoyed whenever they visited.
Elise was a very outspoken woman, whom you could always depend on. She was literally the backbone of her family for a very long time.
She loved playing her numbers, there wasn’t a day she didn’t play the lotto and was very lucky. She was so meticulous about her numbers she kept records and these records date back 20 or more years. Elise could be hard, but it was done out of love. Elise loved music cooking and relaxing with her snuff. She loved her dogs' cats or many ferrets she’s had over the years. She was a woman who on her birthday expected a new wig or fish sandwich from Teds Fish fry and every year one or many
of her grandchildren would always oblige.
And that’s what we’ll as a family miss the most just going to kick back at grandma house because no matter what if you went to grandma house you were bound to stay a couple hours talk eat sleep talk some more. Her stories were unmatched and so interesting. She worked as a nursing aide at Eden Park until her retirement.
