In Loving Memory of Edward Lawson Farmer, Jr.
Edward Lawson Farmer, Jr. was born on January 21st, 1930, in South Boston, Virginia to the late Edward Lawson Farmer, Sr. and Alma Chapel Farmer. He was the oldest of their six children. He proudly served his Country during the Korean War from 1951-1953 as a member of the United States Army. In 1954, he married Elnora Louise (Mortimore) and from that union they had six children.
Edward was a dedicated Auto Body Painter for over 50 years working at Bumstead’s, Otto’s and several other local dealerships and body shops in the greater Capital District. In addition to his love of working on cars, Edward was an avid bowler in his free time.
Edward passed away on April 24th, 2022, peacefully at home. Edward leaves to cherish his memory his children: Leonard (Marsha) Mortimore, Yvonne (Alfonzo) Drewe, Robert Mortimore, Edward Lawson Farmer III, Bruce (Vanessa) Farmer, Mark (Jacqueline) Farmer; his brother John Farmer of Albuquerque, NM and sister Kay Francis of Newport News, VA. And a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he was proud of.
In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by his daughter, E. Cheryl Farmer, Brother, Herman Rudolph Farmer and Sisters, Helen Winbush and Pauline Farmer. He will also be remembered by a host of friends and family.
