On Monday, April 21, 2025, Deborah McDuffie, 74, passed onto eternal rest. Deborah was the beloved daughter of Willie McDuffie Sr. and Elzenia (Willingham) McDuffie and the sister of brothers Willie Jr., Bruce, Timmy and her late brother Eddie. Deborah was a well known figure in her community and had illustrious careers at Glenmont Job Corps Center, Albany County Sheriff’s Department and William S. Hackett Middle School.
During her tenure at Hackett, she connected with hundreds of students over the years and was widely recognized and respected throughout the city of Albany. When it came to leisure, Deborah loved shopping, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her six children: Farnon, Ralphiel, J’amille, Candace, Sean and Emonie as well as several grandchildren including Dominique, Tavon, Naquan, Faquhar, Rahmene, Demtris, Maiya, McKenna, and Owen. Deborah was also a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Garland Bros. Funeral Home at 75 Clinton Ave, Albany, on Wednesday, April 30. There will only be a viewing from 4-6pm followed by Deborah’s cremation. Her legacy will continue to live on in the people who loved her.
