Joseph (Joe) Hudson, born August 29, 1929, to the late Kathleen Collins Newson and James Hudson in Clarksdale, MS. He joined the US Army at the age of 19 receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1954. He later relocated to Albany, New York where he was employed at Watervliet Arsenal, VA Hospital and Albany Medical Center.
Joe joined the Union Missionary Baptist Church along with his wife Daisy. Deacon Hudson was ordained and became a faithful, dedicated servant of the Diaconate Ministry until his health diminished.
Joe was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He cared deeply for his family. His last residence was Fulton County Nursing Home. We will always remain in our hearts forever!
He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters: Penny and Kathleen White; stepdaughter: Patricia Davis; four sons: Phillip and Jeffrey Hudson, Curtis and Joseph White; two sisters: Ella Mae Newson and Alfreda Weeks (Memphis, TN); brother: Jarvis Newson (Memphis, TN); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Joe was predeceased by his wife Daisy Hudson, son: Michael Hudson; brothers: Otis Hooper, R.C., Charles, and L.E. Newson, and sisters: Pearlie Newson, Johnnie Mae Miles, and Dorothy Bradley.
