David H. Springsteen, the youngest son of the late Ralph and Ellen Buchanan Springsteen, was born in Albany, New York on March 1, 1962, and he departed this life on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at his residence. David was educated in the City of Albany where he attended the Cathedral Private School in his elementary years then transferred into the Albany Public School System. He was a Veteran and served from 1979 – 1986 as an Army Reservist. David was employed for 22 years by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles where he retired from in 2017. David accepted Christ is his life at an early age and he was a long-time member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, where he was baptized and confirmed.
David was known for his generous spirit. He would give you the shirt off his back if you asked for it. He enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family and walking throughout the city Of Albany greeting everyone with his infectious smile and soft-spoken voice. David enjoyed dancing, and he was known by his peers as “Disco.” He also was a prankster that loved to tell jokes and laugh at his jokes. His favorite expression was “ You can’t take a joke.”
He was the loving husband to Kimberley Springsteen for 22 years, who he met in high school; Father to Shanisha, David, Danaisha, Monaisha, Davaisha, Joab and Jade Springsteen; Grandfather to Syiara Liverpool, Davion Springsteen, Imani Waklatsi, Tyi Springsteen, Jace Springsteen, Nysahn Maye, Ocean White, Arya and Alexander Cannon, and Passion D. Evans; Brother to Samuel Springsteen and Elvis R. Stewart who preceded him in death. He is survived by siblings Danny Springsteen, Rexall, Ronald and Reginald Stewart, Regina, and Ellen Springsteen. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends will deeply miss him, too.
