Betty Lewis Tolbert Obituary

Betty Rose Lewis- Tolbert was born March 25, 1959 in Troy, NY to the late Alvin and Edna Mae Lewis. She entered eternal rest into God's Kingdom on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 12:33pm, peacefully surrounded by her husband and children. Betty attended Troy City Schools, she worked as head cook at the Troy Bethany Center in the late 90's and St. Mary's Hospital in the mid 2000's. For the last five years Betty was employed with Walmart as a Security Specialist. Betty Rose enjoyed living life, referred to as Bet and Betty Boop she was a true friend to many with such a beautiful soul. She loved cooking for family gatherings, hosting card game parties, traveling to casinos, watching movies at the Drive-ins, listening to old school R&B and spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty leaves to mourn, her husband Willie T. Tolbert of 32 years, nine children Robert (Berthina), Rocksheen and Prince Lewis, Terasita Reddix, Shalamar Williams, Jaquan, Rashaun, Shakaiyla and Nysein Tolbert, 27 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. 

Betty Rose is survived by 7 siblings Inell and Lynn Lewis of Atlanta GA., Andrew (Christine), Ruby, Eddie, Nettie, and Christine Lewis all of Troy, NY She was predeceased by 2 siblings Charlene and John Lewis. Betty also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish her memory.
