Annie Bell (Burch) Walker was born on May 5, 1927 in Mount Meigs, Alabama, to the late James and Nancy Burch.
Annie received Christ at an early age. She was baptized and became a member of New Home Baptist Church.
Annie was educated in Alabama, graduating from Georgia Washington High School.
Annie met and married her high school sweetheart Charles Andrew Walker and from that beautiful union four (4) children were born.
Annie moved to Albany, NY and joined Morning Star Baptist Church where she faithfully served for many years. After some years, she later joined Metropolitan New Testament Mission Baptist Church where she was not only a devoted member but also a devoted member of the Viola Bond’s Metropolitan Usher Board. Annie found great joy serving others as an Usher. She took great pride in marching the church in on Sunday mornings. And for her many years of faithful service, the church honored her as a lifetime member.
Annie also loved to keep busy with activities. She would attend ceramic classes as well as attend senior exercise and swim programs until she was no longer able. In 1965, Annie became employed at Albany Medical Center Hospital. She worked there for thirty-one (31) years before retiring in 1993. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, all her siblings as well as her stepdaughter. To cherish her memory, Annie leaves her children: Charles James Burch Sr., Donnell (Speedy) Walker, Annette Walker, and Maurice Reginald Walker, all of Albany, NY.
