Alan Joseph Shaw gained his wings on Wednesday morning, October 30, 2024, following a sudden illness. Alan was the oldest of four children born to the late Arlene and James Shaw, Sr.
Alan is an Albany native who birthed at Albany Memorial Hospital. Being Of Catholic Faith, Allan attended school at St. Joseph Academy until it closed in 1973, at which time he matriculated to Albany schools where he earned his General Diploma.
Alan worked various jobs to include employment with Winthrop Laboratories, Food Service and several years as Car Wash Attendant alongside his brother James, Jr. (aka Chill Will).
He leaves to cherish his memory and sorely miss him, his children, Simia Shaw, Arlene Shaw, Samanda Shaw, Alan Shaw, Jr., Adine Alphonse, Rolensky Alphonse; his sister Linda Shaw; Life Partners, Velvet Garriques Tarver, Karen Moat, Celinda Taylor; family siblings, Torrrence Chandler, Amanda Taylor, Mister Anthony Taylor, Sir Aaron Taylor; his grandchildren, Amarree Shaw, Adine Alphonse, Rolensky Alphonse, Atarah Alphonse, Emmanuel Alphonse, Teceaferia Lusinda shaw, Andre Quantico Peavy, Franchesca Cornelia Peacy; special nephews, Morris Rasaun Johnson (Doris), Leyward Morris, Ozymandias Morris (Olay), Lamar Morris; niece, Unique Shaw and a host of great nieces and nephews.
Alan was predeceased by his parents, his sister Debra Shaw, his nephew Calvin Newsome.
